Lots to tell

Its been a while since our last post but we have been busy!!!
Dolly (formerly Paris) is now riding well. Such a sweet girl. Here is a px in her new racing stripes... she is so fun to just putt putt around the farm on... we are having a great time. Dolly gets to go to her first jackpots over the New Yeas weekend to see the sites and root on her big sisters.

Fergie, Ginger and Juliette are just eating and enjoying pony life. Still debating the pregnancy status of Ginger and Juliette but if they are not preggers I have plans to breed them this spring to a high powered barrel stallion...

Sad goodbyes and happy starts!

Well we sold Sporty Spice... a bit sad but she is going on Santa's sleigh to make a kid's dream come true! Can not wait for the pictures of that special day!

We also started Paris this weekend... doing some needed ground work then we will be riding her and hauling her with the big girls to all the barrel races...

Fergie, Ginger and Juliette are living the good pony life... eating, playing, eating, sleeping...

Sporty Spice

Just a quick update...
Sporty is riding pretty darn good... poor girl has gotten messed with only on the weekends for the past month and she just gets better each time... can't wait to get to spend some real time with her... get her out and riding for real! She just has the most serene way about her... nothing silly or spookie...

Lotsa progress!

We did so many pony things this weekend! Did you know that Ginger DOES NOT like to back out of a trailer??? and that Paris DOES NOT like clippers??? but at the end of the day Ginger backed out (well sorta fell out sideways but after an hr of working at it I took what I could get!) and Paris got her bridle path clipped... so did everyone else... kinda OCD about their bridle path being clean... and Juliette is finally at a happy weight... no backbone showing, her little booty is round and dang is she full of TUDE! Sporty Spice got ridden and I do think if she were ever going to buck she would have... she got scared and jumped and that usually when they dump you but she came right back to me and whoa-ed and we just kept on riding... YEA!

Sporty Spices FIRST ride!

and she was so good... we just trotted around the round pen a few times, turned around the cone and the tire, backed up some and we were done... but she was a big girl and had no problem with the tub of lard up on her back!

I also got Sporty's registration transfer in... so I can get her registered into my name. That made me happy!

I am really happy with how she is doing. I only really mess with her on the weekends and she is remembering everything... no backtracking to relearn stuff... just really easy to deal with.

Fergie is home and pregnant!

She finally arrived!

Went to pick up our new pony Saturday. To keep with our movie/rock star names we will call her Ginger (Rogers)... and she is so elegant and sweet I think it suits her perfectly... WHAT a pretty girl... kinda a QH/Arab/Pony cross...

She fit right in with everyone EXCEPT Sporty Spice who seems to think she has to protect HER mare herd???!!! Anyway... Sporty is in time out and her only company for the next few weeks is Ginger.. LOL.. so its learn to love your sister!!! or be lonely! LOL...

Not much going to happen this week pony wise... we are getting ready for a big barrel race in Kissimmee and will be gone for the weekend so hubby will have pony feeding duty for a couple days while I am away...

Updates... new ponies.... pregger ponies....

I was spending time with Juliette last night and there is just no doubt she is preggers... I was rubbing and hugging that tummy!! I'm gonna be a grannie pony!! I can't wait... wonder what it will look like... cute I am sure!!! Look at that baby bump!!!

Sporty Spice had her feet trimmed the other night. She was such a lady. I had only picked up her feet once since she came here so I wasn't sure what to expect. She was an old pro. I also spoke to the lady who owned her as a yearling. She raises POA's and I was excited to make that contact. Gonna go up to visit her farm and see her ponies in a couple months. Sporty Spice will now be registered in my name and I was pleased about that!!

Saturday we get to go pick up the new pony!!! YEA!!! a beautiful little sorrel girl... I can't wait to meet her. She sounds like she will fit in here perfectly!!!

Paris is just growing up for now and Fergie has ONE WEEK left before we preg check her... oh please, please, please, please!!!

Got a barrel race Saturday night so I don't know how much "pony wrangling" I will get to do this weekend... perhaps Sunday I can get Sporty out some for some driving and the such.

Pony Rides!!!

Big steps this weekend... I sat on Sporty Spice after driving a while... she was an angel... I think she is about over her silliness with the little bucking. She is doing so great and I am very proud of her... AND... Juliette even gave me a short ride from the pasture to the barn! LOL... I jumped on bareback with her halter and off she went... didn't want to stay on her long because she is still gaining weight but she was so good and it was fun to have that short ride... I love that little pony!

Paris is just growing up some more. She is only 2 remember so we have plenty of time to start her... she is funny though... comes running to you when she sees you in the pasture... she is always ready to go to the barn for munchies!

Fergie has been bred and we will know around Sept. 24 if she is pregnant... OH PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!!!

Shoot... I even rode the big horses this weekend! I've about retired them... LOL... all I seem to care about are the ponies... hehehe.

Driving and owie tummies

Sporty Spice got driven tonight. She did great... neither one of us had ever driven or been driven but I sure liked it... got her whoa-ing and turning and backing... I think the buck string will be able to be retired in a few more workouts.

Juliette had a gassy tummy tonight. She is learning to deal with grass after having no grass for so long... but a little oil and water pumped down her and a few laps on the walker and she was pooting up a storm and feeling better and better.

Saddle Time

EEEEveryone got saddled this weekend... EVEN JULIETTE! she did-nt care... and she was so dang cute in her little saddle... hmmmm... I need to go buy her a pony sized pad though. Scratchy wants to keep Juliette for a pet so what Scratch wants
Scratch gets... (and look at that tummy in the px... I think she DOES have a bun in the oven!)

Paris is about ready to jump on and ride... just want her to start packing a bit a little better... so we are a few weeks out on that... plus I am concentrating on the Evil Twins getting them ready for a show the end of the month.

Sporty Spice is still wearing her buck string... but she is starting to waiver... she just needs to carry a saddle around for a month or so... needs to go on the hot walker, be ponied, just get her ok with that durn tight girth!!! She loaded in the trailer just fine today.. .but found out she's not too fond of a welding maching... hehehehe...

Big improvements....

A week ago when Sporty Spice arrived she was so nervous and scared of everything. She refused to walk up onto the cement breezeway in the barn, the fan scared her to death and IF she did walk up she would go running backwards of get off... so within a week she will now walk up on the cement and tie in the breezeway and stand almost like a good girl. Saddled her today and worked her in the round pen... she bucked some but settled down soon. GOOD GIRL.... she gets a little scared of stuff but not silly and has warmed up to everything I've thrown at her so far...

Paris also got saddled today. Was told she had a few rides on her and I believe them. She never even blinked.... just loped around the round pen like she had... so YEA!

The three ponies, Sporty, Juliette and Paris got to go out in the pasture for a while today... they had a blast... still have a couple weeks of stalling and innoculations but the afternoon out did them good! We miss Fergie, she is still at the breeders...

Ponies EVERYWHERE!!

Goodness... lots has happened lately! The next day after buying Paris I jumped into the truck and drug my sweet Fergie down to Ocala to be bred to Red Hot Pursuit... got to see the grand old man in person and I do think I picked RIGHT... should be a pretty fast little rocket of a baby when it arrives. Fergie is still in Ocala doing her thing and lets all hope she comes back with a bun in the oven!!!

While crusing thru craigslist I happened upon another pony... so I called and went to see her. YEA... I bought her... a 3 yr old POA I call Sporty Spice. She had been standing around for the last year doing nothing. The couple I got her from got her as a wedding present and really didn't know much about horses.. but Sporty Spice is fitting in great!!!

I bought a pony girth today and a pony bit... as soon as they arrive Paris and Sporty will get to work getting kid broke!

I am still thinking my sweet Juliette is preggers... I just don't know...

Opps... I didn't mean to do that!

Well I bought another unexpected pony while at the jackpot Saturday night. I drove up and saw the most gorgeous pony tied to someone's trailer... by the end of the night she was mine... I call her Paris... she is a registered AQHA but very small... I hid Paris in the barn in hopes that hubby wouldn't notice... LOL... I spilled the beans Monday morning. hehehe....

Then the next day off to GA to pick up Fergie! I HOPE to breed Fergie to Red Hot Pursuit and get a smokin little stallion to start my pony program with... we will see how that goes... I can just see a baby out of those two... the FASTEST, CUTEST little yella pony in the world!!!

So everyone is home and adjusting to life in Callahan....
found out this weekend that Juliette is only coming 2 not 3... so she has some growing to do!

Juliette Arrives! 8/11/09

Hi There,
My name is
Juliette...

I am a 3 yr old Hackney cross. I'm not scared of anything and Julie says I am the sweetest little girl she has ever met... Right now I am 45" tall but Julie hopes that with some regular worming, hi powered groceries and nice green grass I will grow a little bit more over the next year or so... I sure do like to eat!! One of my favorite things to do.. but that wormer stuff tastes kinda yukkie...
Julie also thinks I might be pregnant... hmmm... is it just a big hay tummy or a baby tummy? well I suppose we will know soon enough!
Got my shots tonight (8/12/09)... yowwwwwie... that stung... I was like WHAT are you doing to my neck?!?!?! but I stood like a good girl and took my medicine... so I have to stay in the stall with fans until my second shot which is in 3 weeks... but Garrett and Julie take me on walks and let me munch on grass and visit with the dogs and other horses... not so bad but I can't wait to get out in that pasture and run like the wind... Julie says that running fast is good for barrel ponies and I sure do like to run!
